The 1.4 GW East Anglia Three, located 69 kilometres off the Suffolk coast, will feature 95 Siemens Gamesa 14+ MW wind turbines. It is the first UK offshore wind project to utilize 115-metre blades.

Siemens Gamesa manufactures all 285 blades for East Anglia Three in the UK at their Hull facility.

“These are the biggest blades ever built for a UK project – a milestone for offshore wind. We’re proud these record-breaking blades are made at our Hull factory, employing over 1,400 people,” said Darren Davidson, UK Head of Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa.

Cadeler’s O-class Wind Osprey jack-up vessel is carrying out the turbine installation. The P-class vessel Wind Pace will join later this month for its first European deployment.

“Deploying two vessels in parallel maintains a consistent, efficient pace. Wind Pace’s first European project enhances our ability to deliver safely and reliably,” said Mikkel Gleerup, Cadeler CEO.

Offshore construction on East Anglia Three began in April 2025, with the installation of the first monopile foundation.

Turbine installation completion is expected in the third or fourth quarter of the year, according to project details.

Once operational, the 1.4 GW wind farm will supply enough clean electricity for approximately 1.3 million UK homes, as per ScottishPower Renewables and Masdar.
