Gazelle Wind Power, a Portugal-based developer of floating wind foundations, has partnered with China’s Blue Aspirations, specializing in floating LiDAR and seabed observation systems. Together, they aim to create advanced floating offshore wind platforms.
Announced by Blue Aspirations on October 30, the collaboration will merge their data and monitoring systems with Gazelle’s platform technology. This will lead to the development of “intelligent, resilient, and scalable floating wind solutions” for challenging offshore environments.
Gazelle and Blue Aspirations will focus on developing LiDAR systems tailored for floating wind applications. These include wind resource measurements and condition monitoring, accounting for platform motion.
The partnership aims to make platform concepts commercially ready for future global floating wind tenders.
“By combining Blue Aspiration’s expertise in data systems with our floating platform technology, we can advance the industry and tap into deep-water wind’s clean-energy potential,” stated Jon Salazar, Gazelle Wind Power’s Founder and CEO.
The companies will also share expertise to drive improved outcomes, leveraging each other’s strengths for better results.
“This partnership transcends business—it is a commitment to advancing clean energy and building a sustainable legacy,” said Lifen Song, CEO & Founder of Blue Aspirations.
