AB Energy Expands U.S. Presence with New Headquarters in Texas

In a move aimed at strengthening its position in the U.S. energy sector, AB Energy has inaugurated its new North American headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas. This strategic location places the company in a vibrant energy corridor, enhancing its access to engineering expertise, industrial clients, and a burgeoning market for distributed power systems. The new headquarters aligns with AB Energy USA’s initiative to expand operations in response to rising electricity demands across various sectors.

Since entering the U.S. market in 2014, AB Energy has been actively involved in diverse projects across industries such as wastewater treatment, agriculture, healthcare, and manufacturing. The company specializes in combined heat and power (CHP) systems that produce both electricity and thermal energy, emphasizing efficiency and sustainability.

Central Hub for North American Operations

The newly established headquarters in The Woodlands Towers at The Waterway is designed to be the central hub for AB Energy’s North American subsidiaries and commercial operations. Spanning approximately 11,000 square feet of Class A office space, the facility will host corporate leadership, engineering coordination, and project management teams, consolidating efforts to meet the growing U.S. project demands.

AB Energy plans to expand its workforce significantly, with expectations to add about 45 positions by 2026 and approximately 30 more roles annually over the next five years. These positions are primarily focused on engineering design, equipment integration, and long-term system service. The location near Houston offers proximity to a significant concentration of energy industry expertise, facilitating recruitment and partnerships as the distributed energy market grows.

Growing Demand for Distributed Generation

There is a noticeable uptick in interest for distributed power systems as industries seek to bolster energy resilience and address increasing electricity demand. Cogeneration systems, or CHP, are becoming popular as they generate electricity and capture heat that would otherwise be lost, enhancing energy efficiency.

AB Energy USA has been at the forefront of deploying natural gas and biogas-based cogeneration projects across different sectors. Renewable natural gas sourced from agricultural waste and wastewater treatment facilities is playing an increasingly significant role in the company’s projects.

A key driver of demand is the digital infrastructure sector. AB Energy is involved in projects that will contribute approximately one gigawatt of power generation capacity for data centers, which support AI and high-performance computing. These projects often utilize large-scale gas engine systems to ensure reliable power for energy-intensive computing operations.

As AI-driven computing grows, many data center developers are exploring localized power generation solutions that can be implemented more swiftly than traditional grid upgrades. AB Energy’s expertise in on-site power generation, engineering integration, and long-term service positions it well to assist clients in maintaining reliable energy supplies while optimizing emissions and operational efficiency.
