As the demand for spacious family vehicles grows, several automakers are gearing up to introduce 7-seater electric SUVs and MPVs to cater to this need. This shift marks a significant transition towards larger electric options for Indian families seeking practicality and eco-friendliness.

Prominent manufacturers like Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, and VinFast are leading the charge with plans to launch new electric models by 2027. These upcoming vehicles promise to deliver premium features, extended driving ranges, and ample space for families.

Here’s an overview of some notable 7-seater electric vehicles expected to hit the Indian market soon.

Tata Safari EV

Tata Motors is expanding its electric SUV offerings with the much-anticipated Safari EV. Expected to debut during the festive season, this model aims to retain the iconic Safari design while incorporating EV-specific elements such as a closed grille, aerodynamic wheels, and updated LED lighting.

The Safari EV is set to be Tata’s inaugural three-row electric SUV, featuring amenities like ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery, and a triple-screen setup inspired by the Sierra EV concept. Potential battery configurations include 65 kWh and 75 kWh packs, with the larger option offering a range exceeding 620 km. Higher trims may also feature an all-wheel-drive setup.
