In a significant milestone for Hyundai Motor America, the company reported its best-ever July sales figures, marking a 4% increase from the previous year. Driving this growth was a marked demand for hybrid models, with hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) sales seeing an impressive 35% rise. Notably, the Tucson model stood out with a 20% increase in sales, contributing to a record-breaking month for the brand.

Hybrid Models Drive Electrified Vehicle Sales

The surge in hybrid demand was further highlighted by all-time July sales records for Hyundai’s Sonata HEV, Elantra HEV, and Tucson HEV, with increases of 85%, 13%, and 5% respectively. “Hyundai’s July results demonstrate the growing appeal of our hybrid-powered SUVs,” said Randy Parker, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America. Electrified vehicles now account for a third of all retail sales, showcasing the shift towards more sustainable options.
