The collaboration between Davi and GS Entec in the offshore wind sector has reached another significant milestone. Following successful Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) in Italy in July 2025, the project has progressed to the operational phase with the conclusion of Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at GS Entec’s facility in South Korea.
Efficient Installation and Testing Phase
The final phase of the project began in late February 2026 with the arrival of Davi’s wind energy field service engineer, who collaborated closely with the GS Entec team. Although the machinery is complex, the units were installed in parallel, optimizing time.
The tests confirmed the high quality of the equipment design and the skills of the service team:
- The MCB (Four-Roll Plate Roll) passed the SAT on April 10, 2026.
- The MAV (Three-Roll Variable Axis Plate Roll) completed its SAT on April 17, 2026.
Both machines performed well, with minor adjustments resolved promptly without impacting functionality.
Training and Conical Rolling Support
After testing, Davi trained GS Entec operators to maximize the new equipment’s potential, delivering complete “as-built” documentation. A key focus was on conical rolling. As the conical shell was available later in the testing period, Davi extended the technician’s stay for additional support during critical performance tests, ensuring the team could manage complex components with confidence.
Compliance and Reliability as Base for the Partnership
A crucial aspect was compliance with Korean certification and regulatory standards. Davi supplied all materials, including motors and electrical components, in full compliance with local regulations, showcasing its adaptability to demanding technical environments.
Davi completed the work within the timeframe, and GS Entec expressed satisfaction with the results. This achievement advances the growth of offshore wind energy in South Korea and beyond.
