Cadeler has taken delivery of Wind Ace, its eleventh wind installation vessel and second of three A-class newbuilds.
Cadeler’s A-class vessels can be converted from installing XXL foundations to wind turbine generators quickly.
Wind Ace was constructed over two years at the COSCO Shipping Offshore shipyard in Qidong, China. It was delivered on schedule, within budget, and with over 3.5 million working hours without any lost time accidents.
Post-mobilization, Wind Ace will be prepared for deployment at ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm in the UK. Cadeler will handle the transportation and installation of foundations and turbines for this project.
Earlier this year, the vessel was named by Lisa Western of ScottishPower Renewables, honoring the partnership between the companies and Wind Ace’s role in East Anglia TWO.
As the second vessel in Cadeler’s A-class series, Wind Ace is designed to transport and install both XXL monopile foundations and advanced wind turbine generators.
East Anglia TWO is a 960 MW offshore wind farm developed by ScottishPower Renewables, part of the Iberdrola Group, located in the North Sea. Once operational, it will supply renewable electricity to nearly one million homes.
Under contracts announced in 2024, Cadeler will manage the transportation and installation of 64 wind turbine generators and their foundations. Offshore work is set to begin in 2027, with Wind Ace supporting the project alongside Cadeler’s O-class vessel.

With the delivery of Wind Ace, Cadeler now operates eleven offshore wind installation vessels. The third A-class vessel, Wind Apex, is scheduled for delivery in 2027.
