BMW’s 2027 Model Year Lineup Unveiled Through Online Leak

In an unexpected turn of events, BMW’s U.S. online shop has offered a sneak peek into the brand’s 2027 model year lineup. The inadvertent revelation includes a range of vehicles from the 2 Series to the 7 Series, featuring new names and configurations.

Among the highlights of this leak is the confirmation of the M2 xDrive. Previously speculated, this model will now officially join BMW’s lineup, marking the first time the M2 will feature an all-wheel-drive system. While the M2 xDrive is set to come with an automatic transmission, enthusiasts can still opt for the traditional rear-wheel-drive M2 with a manual gearbox.

As expected, the M2 xDrive will carry a higher price tag. Drawing a parallel with the M4 Competition’s price difference, it’s anticipated to start around $75,000. Additionally, the M2 xDrive will weigh more due to its complex all-wheel-drive system.

Beyond the M2, the 3 Series section unveils a new M350 xDrive, anticipated to replace the outgoing M340i xDrive. This model will lead the next-generation 3 Series lineup, which also includes the electric i3 40 xDrive and i3 50 xDrive models, aligning with BMW’s previously announced plans to introduce the i3 sedan to the U.S.

The iX3, another noteworthy entry, will be available in three versions: 40 sDrive (RWD), 40 xDrive, and 50 xDrive. The introduction of the iX4, a coupe-styled crossover, adds to the excitement, arriving in 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive variants. This model offers a stylish alternative to the iX3, though it sacrifices some rear headroom and cargo space due to its design.

Moving up the lineup, the 2027 X5 maintains its rear-wheel-drive base model as the 40 sDrive and introduces the electric iX5 60 xDrive. Meanwhile, the 7 Series remains partially obscured on the web shop, hinting at yet-to-be-revealed updates, including a likely new M760 with M Performance badging.

Notably absent from the lineup are the Z4 and 8 Series, signaling their near retirement. The leak underscores BMW’s ambitious agenda, with a slew of new or updated vehicles anticipated in the coming years, including the next-generation X7 and potential rugged additions to the “X” lineup.
