Wind Harvest International Welcomes New CDO to Foster Growth and Tribal-Led Renewable Initiatives
In an era where renewable energy is more critical than ever, Wind Harvest International, Inc. is making strides by appointing Pronita Saxena as the Chief Development Officer (CDO). Based in Davis, California, the company is expanding its reach into large-scale renewable energy and AI-infrastructure projects, specifically through a strategic partnership with Kamaka Global. Saxena’s robust background in creating solutions for startups in energy, water, and waste management will be pivotal in accelerating the company’s growth and supporting tribal nations in developing and owning clean energy assets, leveraging the U.S 50% Investment Tax Credits available for renewable projects.
Saxena’s impressive academic credentials include a degree in Economics with Honors and a Minor in Global Poverty & Practice from UC Berkeley. Her professional journey took her from the MIT Poverty Action Lab in Bangladesh to the Center for Global Development in Washington, DC, where she conducted research on global goods financing, inequality, and economic productivity. Her transition into the cleantech sector began at EnerNOC, where she optimized international demand-response operations post-IPO and worked with Techstars-Boston startups. Saxena also contributed to civic-tech in India with NextDrop and founded Citizengage, a pioneering waste-to-resource grid achieving over 86% waste diversion.
Kevin Wolf, CEO of Wind Harvest, remarked on Saxena’s appointment, stating, “Pronita’s cross-sector experience—spanning policy, technology deployment, commercial development, and infrastructure across multiple geographies—comes at an important time for Wind Harvest. As we pursue strategic partnerships and our first commercial installations, including our collaboration with Kamaka Global and tribal communities, Pronita’s leadership will support our efforts to responsibly advance projects designed to provide economic and community benefits.”
As CDO, Saxena will focus on project development, commercialization, and fostering partnerships across sectors. Her immediate priority is the Wind Harvest-Kamaka Global collaboration, which aims to develop renewable-energy portfolios for tribal communities, enhancing sovereignty and creating workforce opportunities. Saxena is enthusiastic about her new role, stating, “I’m honored to join Wind Harvest at a time when the need for large-scale, clean energy solutions is imminent. Wind Harvest is uniquely positioned to introduce VAWTs into locations where traditional HAWTs cannot operate and bring to market a disruptive solution that harnesses low altitude turbulent wind, rather than breaking apart because of it.”
