In a strategic move to address the rising demand for electricity and enhance grid infrastructure in the United States, Siemens Energy is pouring $1 billion into expanding its manufacturing capabilities and workforce. This initiative will see the addition of over 1,500 jobs, as the company focuses on increasing power generation capacity and constructing resilient grid systems.

The investment plan includes expanding existing facilities to boost transformer production and service capabilities, along with enhancing the manufacturing of large gas turbines within the U.S. A significant portion of the funds will go towards building a new factory in Mississippi dedicated to manufacturing key grid components.

“Siemens Energy has been making things in the United States for more than a century and we are experiencing a once-in-a-generation growth opportunity due to the resurgence of U.S. manufacturing and the growth of artificial intelligence,” stated Christian Bruch, CEO and President of Siemens Energy. “The current policy environment has contributed to this momentum. The Trump Administration has made energy security, a reliable and resilient grid, and growing U.S. manufacturing jobs a priority. This has supercharged the energy demand which is supporting new investments across the energy sector. We are excited to help write this next chapter of American energy expansion.”

Doug Burgum, U.S. Secretary of Interior and White House National Energy Dominance Chair, highlighted the initiative’s alignment with national goals, saying, “This tremendous investment in a critical part of our power grid supply chain underscores President Trump’s success in expanding supply chain access and bringing major manufacturing back to America. We appreciate great partners like Siemens Energy, who proactively partner with the Trump administration for the benefit of the American people, prioritizing critical components to make the United States Energy Dominant!”

Florida (Orlando and Tampa): The Tampa facility will increase blade and vane production, while the Orlando site will see improvements in R&D and the establishment of an AI digital grid lab with NVIDIA. The headquarters will also move to Orlando’s Lake Nona community.

Alabama (Fort Payne): Production of electrical components for generators will expand, bringing 120 new jobs.

New York (Painted Post) and Texas (Houston): Facilities for manufacturing and servicing compression equipment for pipelines will be upgraded.

A Rich Legacy in the U.S.

Siemens Energy’s roots in the U.S. stretch back to the 1880s, notably establishing its first manufacturing site in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1887. Since its spin-off from Siemens AG in 2020, Siemens Energy has been operating independently, maintaining a significant presence in the U.S. with over 12,000 employees across 25 locations, including major legacy brands like Westinghouse and Dresser Rand.
