Eli Electric Vehicles Debuts Enhanced Zero MX at EICMA 2026
At the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Eli Electric Vehicles has unveiled a more advanced edition of its small yet mighty electric microcar, the Eli ZERO MX. This enhanced model not only offers a significant increase in speed but also introduces a limited-edition variant with a hidden Turbo feature.
Eli ZERO MX: Compact Size, Enhanced Performance
The newly introduced Eli ZERO MX, which was teased earlier, is the company’s first entry into the L7e electric vehicle category. This classification allows the vehicle to achieve speeds up to 80 km/h (50 mph), a notable improvement from the earlier model’s 45 km/h (28 mph) capability. Despite these enhancements, the car maintains its petite 2.25-meter (7.4-foot) frame.
Powering this tiny powerhouse is a 20 kW (27 hp) engine, a step up from the original 12 kW (16 hp) offering. With a 14.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, the Eli ZERO MX boasts a range of up to 200 km (124 miles) per charge, making it ideal for urban and suburban commutes.
Users can choose between ECO and SPORT driving modes, enjoy a 30% climbing capability, and benefit from a compact 7.2-meter turning radius. Charging is facilitated by a 3.3 kW onboard charger, compatible with both home and public AC charging stations.
The vehicle is loaded with features typically reserved for larger cars, including air conditioning, a panoramic moonroof, and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. Additionally, it offers keyless entry, electric power steering, ABS, and more. Available in four striking colors—Pearl White, Arctic Silver, Graphite, and Champagne—the MX shifts to the L7e classification, allowing for enhanced performance but requiring a higher-level license.
Introducing the Sporty Race Edition
In addition to the MX, Eli is launching the Eli ZERO Race Edition, available in both L6e and L7e formats. This limited-production model sports a unique Turbo Red color scheme with racing stripes, a rear spoiler, and specialized wheel badges. Inside, the Race Edition boasts a two-tone Race Red microsuede interior.
One of the standout features of this edition is its Turbo mode, activated by pressing the hazard light button. While it doesn’t increase the top speed or surpass regulatory limits, it provides a more responsive driving experience.
Eli is also offering a Carbon Aero Kit, which includes a carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts, and rear wing, compatible with both the Race Edition and other Eli ZERO models.
Expanding Horizons for Small Electric Vehicles
Eli continues to push the boundaries of small electric vehicles, emphasizing efficiency and practicality for daily commutes. By venturing into the L7e category, the company addresses the speed limitations of its earlier designs, making the vehicles more versatile for varied driving conditions.
The Eli ZERO family is currently available across several European markets, including Italy, Norway, and the Netherlands, with the base model priced at €10,500 (approximately US $12,000). While pricing for the MX and Race Edition is yet to be announced, these models are primarily targeted at the European market, with a pilot program underway in the United States.
For those attending EICMA 2026 in Milan from November 3–8, both the Eli ZERO MX and Race Edition will be showcased, demonstrating how this compact vehicle is leaving a significant mark in the automotive industry.
