With a wing larger than that found on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Xiaomi’s latest prototype has been captured by CarBuzz spy photographers. This striking new model seems poised to push the boundaries of speed even further. The SU7 Ultra, already renowned for its track performance, appears to be evolving into an even faster machine.
While its exaggerated design might seem cartoonish, the potential speed and performance of this vehicle are no laughing matter. Xiaomi’s SU7 initially debuted as a simple four-door sedan in 2023, but by late 2024, its engineers had transformed it into a high-performance marvel.
The prototype is packed with cutting-edge aerodynamic features akin to those on a Formula 1 car, starting with its massive dual-element rear wing. This new wing, supported by goose-neck hinges, is much larger than the existing SU7 Ultra’s single-plane version. It also includes a Gurney flap cleverly camouflaged in the trunk lid.
Additionally, the updated rear diffuser, though seemingly less aggressive, is broader than its predecessor, likely enhancing its effectiveness. The design includes cutouts behind the tires to channel air efficiently, directing it over a small splitter for optimal airflow management.
The front splitter has also undergone significant modifications, now extending further with more pronounced end plates. These end plates conceal additional components designed to generate downforce.
The hood vents, though not entirely new, appear larger and have been moved forward. The airflow channels now extend further, guiding air over the windshield more efficiently.
One of the standout features includes the GT3 RS-style fender vents, which release high-pressure air from the arches to reduce front-end lift and improve stability. These vents also help cool the massive brakes, whose logos remain hidden, maintaining an air of mystery around this vehicle.
Insiders suggest that this is the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Extreme, a more powerful version of the existing Ultra. The current Ultra boasts three Xiaomi-designed electric motors with a combined output of 1,526 horsepower. Replacing the front motor with a unit similar to the rear ones could increase this to 1,710 horsepower.
CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters:
The SU7 Ultra with Track Package set the Nürburgring record for a four-door EV with a 7:05 lap time in 2025. Porsche reclaimed the record in 2026 with a 6:56 lap, but Xiaomi is undoubtedly aiming to surpass this once more.
Xiaomi’s previous SU7 Ultra Prototype achieved a blistering 6:22, nearly matching the Ford GT Mk IV and surpassing the AMG One, positioning it close to the VW ID.R’s record in 2019.
If Xiaomi’s new iteration outpaces the road-legal Ultra, competitors like the Porsche Taycan, Corvette ZR1X, and Mustang GTD Competition could face serious challenges, risking a significant blow to their reputations.
