Seawork returns to Southampton from June 9–11, 2026, featuring an international exhibition, conference program, and live maritime demonstrations that establish it as the UK’s leading commercial marine event.
This year’s program addresses key sector issues: sustainability, skills, technology, and innovation. Alongside the main conference, several sessions leverage the region’s maritime strengths.
The University of Southampton will present a Showcase of Maritime Innovation in the Solent, coinciding with the launch of its Centre for Green Maritime Innovation. This industry-led initiative provides facilities and expertise to test zero-carbon and energy-efficient technologies. The session will also discuss the University’s work in autonomous systems, marine robotics, and maritime career pathways.
Nigel Taylor, CEO of Southampton-based PerformOS, will lead the AI at Sea session for a second year. His firm specializes in helping UK businesses adopt AI in practical terms.
“AI is advancing rapidly, but the challenge for many businesses is understanding where to start,” said Taylor. “Our session aims to provide practical insights directly relevant to commercial marine businesses of all sizes, offering a clear view of AI’s current and future impacts.”
Poole-based Professional Rescue will conduct a technical session and live demonstration of ROVs, sonar, and UAV systems in search and rescue scenarios, including the training required for deployment.

Seawork 2026 will include Maritime Solent’s Training & Careers Day, connecting youth with employers to explore commercial marine career paths.
Melissa Woolcock, Marketing Director at event organizer Mercator Media, said: “Seawork unites people, ideas, and expertise that drive the commercial marine sector. It’s vital for Southampton, not just due to visitor numbers, but also because it reaffirms the city’s role as a maritime hub.”
Beyond the exhibition floor, the event offers networking, live demonstrations, and direct access to industry specialists.
