EV Sales Surge in November 2024
By the end of November 2024, plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs), which include both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), showed impressive sales figures. A total of 1,412,298 PEVs were sold throughout the year, surpassing the previous year’s numbers. This represents an increase of 116,872 vehicles, or 9%, compared to the same period in 2023.
- PEVs accounted for 10.4% of all light-duty vehicle sales in November 2024, a notable rise from 9.4% in 2023 and 6.8% in 2022.
- November 2024 alone saw the sale of 141,442 PEVs, marking an 11.5% increase from November 2023.

Top Performers Among New EV Entrants
Several new EV models are making waves in the market. The Honda Prologue and Chevrolet Equinox both saw significant sales increases of 65% and 69%, respectively, from October to November. Ford’s EV lineup also performed well, with the Mach-E sales rising by 79% and the Ford F-150 Lightning entering the top 10 with a 96% sales jump.
