This contract affirms the collaboration between the companies and highlights F.lli Righini’s role in the offshore lifting equipment market.

The project will include delivering:

  • 4 Internal Lifting Tools (ILT) with top gimbals
  • 4 Spreader Bar Heads

Equipment delivery is scheduled for 2026 to support future major offshore projects.

Building on a Record-Breaking Legacy

This contract follows the 2020 delivery of four ILTs with a 4,000-tonne vertical load capacity and a 1,000-tonne transverse load capacity, the most powerful tools of their kind. The new ILTs will exceed these, with a 6,500-tonne axial capacity and 2,250-tonne transverse capacity, designed for pile diameters from 80” to 108”.

A Fully Integrated Solution

The equipment will undergo extensive Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis to ensure performance under tough offshore conditions. It aims to maximize efficiency and minimize risks during installation or removal of Jackets or Top Sides. Additionally, four Spreader Bar Heads will be fabricated to manage ILTs using a modular Spreader Bar.

In-House Expertise and Testing Excellence

Engineering, fabrication, machining, and assembly will occur at F.lli Righini’s headquarters in Ravenna, Italy, alongside full-scale Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on all four ILTs. This process ensures strict quality control and scheduling.

Design Benefits and Strategic Value

The system prioritizes reusability, modularity, and performance:

  • Compact geometry enhances stability and lifting height by reducing distance between ILT lift points and crane hook.
  • Scalable design allows deployment across multiple projects with minimal reconfiguration.

These features align with [Heerema’s operational efficiency goals](https://www.heerema.com) and industry best practices for safety and sustainability, supporting Righini’s ESG strategy.

End-to-End Support

F.lli Righini will provide lifecycle support, including technical assistance during commissioning and operations, to ensure seamless equipment integration into Heerema’s marine strategy.

Commitment to Offshore Innovation

We are proud to support our client with the highest-performing lifting solutions in the offshore industry.” The project underscores F.lli Righini’s investment in engineering excellence and its role in advancing offshore wind and oil & gas infrastructures.
