EQT Corp., North America’s leading natural gas producer, reduced its output earlier this year due to low prices resulting from a mild winter. However, with predictions of a hot summer in the US and internationally, the company has begun resuming the 1 Bcf/d that was curtailed in late February, according to CEO Toby Rice.
Rice revealed this during a presentation at the LDC Gas Forums Northeast in Boston. He explained the process is an incremental one without a set timeline. The rate at which EQT will roll back its retrenchment will partly depend on prices, Rice added.
