MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Dane County is utilizing new grant funds from the U.S. Department of Energy to launch a campaign aimed at expanding clean energy services.

Home Energy Guides Program

The initiative, called Home Energy Guides, will focus on underserved populations, including people of color, rural communities, the elderly, and disabled individuals.

Investment in Clean Energy

Dane County Executive Jamie Kuhn emphasized the county’s commitment to a clean energy future. “I’m proud that we are investing these federal funds in partnerships with community-based organizations, building local organizational capacity to address household energy issues over the long term,” Kuhn stated.

Funding and Proposals

The county has secured over $260,000 in funding for this program. Proposals from entities interested in serving as community-based partners are open for submission and are due on July 18.
