Dajin Heavy Industry and Haventus, developer of Ardersier Port in Scotland, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore merging Dajin’s manufacturing and transport capabilities with Ardersier’s port infrastructure to support fixed-bottom and floating wind projects in the UK and Europe.
The collaboration aims to identify new commercial opportunities and leverage Ardersier Port as a hub for storage, marshalling, assembly, and transport of offshore wind components. Haventus highlights Ardersier Port’s extensive quayside land, deep-water access, and a high-voltage power connection as ideal for supporting manufacturing and assembly of large-scale offshore wind structures.
Ardersier Port was previously considered by Mingyang Smart Energy to build a GBP 1.5 billion wind turbine factory. However, the UK government rejected the plan, citing national security concerns and unsuitability of Mingyang’s turbines for UK projects.
While Mingyang’s technology is featured only at Italy’s Taranto offshore wind farm, Dajin Heavy Industry has supplied foundations for major European projects, including the UK’s Hornsea 3 and Scotland’s Moray West and Inch Cape offshore wind farms.

Dajin is expanding its transport capabilities, recently launching two King-class heavy transport vessels.
