2027 Chevy Equinox and Blazer EVs Gain Tesla Charging Access

Exciting changes are coming to the Chevrolet lineup as the 2027 Equinox EV and Blazer EV prepare to roll out with significant updates. These enhancements aim to address some of the most common grievances among current owners, making the new models more appealing to electric vehicle enthusiasts.

Enhancements to the 2027 Chevy Equinox and Blazer EVs

General Motors (GM) is responding to consumer demands by introducing pivotal updates to its 2027 electric SUV models. The upcoming Chevy Equinox and Blazer EVs will feature the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, facilitating access to Tesla Superchargers. This change will enable drivers to utilize over 3,000 Tesla Supercharger stations as well as more than 37,000 charging ports across the United States.

This transition to NACS aligns with GM’s broader strategy to integrate this charging standard across all new EVs, beginning with the 2026 Cadillac Optiq and the forthcoming 2027 Chevy Bolt. The shift is driven by the reliability and extensive reach of the Tesla Supercharger network, which is currently the largest in the nation.

Beyond charging capabilities, another noteworthy update is the introduction of a premium Bose sound system for the 2027 Chevy Blazer EV. As reported by GMAuthority, the LT and RS trims will now have the option to upgrade to an eight-speaker Bose system, a feature that was previously exclusive to the top-tier Blazer EV SS model.

The standard sound setup in the current Equinox and Blazer models includes a six-speaker stereo. However, many drivers have voiced dissatisfaction with the audio quality, longing for the superior eight-speaker system that was available in the previous Bolt EUV. The Bose upgrade will be part of the Super Cruise Package, which remains standard on the 2027 Blazer EV SS and is offered at an additional cost for other trims.

The Super Cruise package, priced at $4,650 on current models, includes various features such as the RS Convenience and Driver Confidence Package, a heated rear wiper, a Head-Up Display, and enhanced parking assist. This package will also be available for the 2027 Equinox EV under the optional Active Safety Package 3.

Presently, the Active Safety Package 3 can be added to the LT2 and RS trims for $3,355, offering three years of OnStarOne, GM’s Super Cruise ADAS technology, and Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist.

The 2026 Chevy Equinox EV, marketed as “America’s most affordable 315+ mile range EV,” starts at $34,995, while the Blazer EV begins at $44,600. These updates are timely as GM faces increased competition from other brands offering longer driving ranges and similar charging capabilities, such as the Toyota bZ and Hyundai IONIQ 5.
