Adam Wood, Renault’s UK managing director, highlights the strategic appeal of the Renault 5 and 4 models, which have successfully captured the interest of private buyers across Europe, even outselling major competitors like Tesla. The Twingo E-Tech, a smaller, more accessible sibling in Renault’s lineup, shares its platform with the Renault 5 and 4. However, it introduces some unique design choices, such as a shortened overall length and a flexible rear axle borrowed from the Renault Captur.
Renault’s Twingo E-Tech is designed to be a practical city car with a distinct personality. Despite its compact size, it offers a comfortable driving range of 163 miles on a single charge, thanks to its lightweight design and a 27.5kWh battery using Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry.
Set to be one of the most affordable EVs on the market, the Twingo E-Tech’s price will be “comfortably” under €20,000 (approximately £17,500 / $23,000 / AU$33,500), making it competitive with other budget-friendly models like the Dacia Spring and Leapmotor T03.
