Rare Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 Coupe Set for Auction
Known for producing some of the world’s most exclusive supercars, Lamborghini made headlines in 2019 with the introduction of the Sián FKP 37, its first hybrid vehicle. The car combines a powerful 6.5-liter V-12 engine with a 48-volt electric motor, resulting in an impressive 808 horsepower. This blend of power and innovation allows the Sián to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in under 2.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 217 mph.
Adding to its allure, the Sián FKP 37 is extremely exclusive, with only 19 roadsters and 63 coupes produced, a nod to Lamborghini’s founding year, 1963. The name “Sián” means “lightning,” and “FKP 37” honors Ferdinand Karl Piëch, a former Volkswagen Group chairman. Initially priced between $3.6 million and $3.8 million, all units were sold before the first delivery.
A rare opportunity arises as one of these 63 coupes, with just 284 miles and over $262,000 in custom options, is up for auction next month at the Monterey Car Week in Northern California, hosted by Broad Arrow Auctions.
“This car takes the Sián’s significance one step further, with single ownership from new, incredibly low miles, and a wild, unique Ad Personam specification that we know serious hypercar collectors are after in today’s market,” stated Alexander Weaver, vice president of Broad Arrow Auctions. He highlighted its rarity and appeal to hypercar collectors.
The car’s distinctive color scheme, Bianco Asopo with Grigio Liqueo and Verde Lampros accents, is complemented by a $105,000 carbon package and more than $157,000 in custom exterior features. Inside, the vehicle boasts Poltrona Frau leather in Nero Cosmus, Alcantara, and carbon fiber details.
The Sián is based on the track-oriented Aventador SVJ and features cutting-edge hybrid technology. Its 34 hp electric motor, integrated into the seven-speed transmission, provides instant torque up to 80 mph. The Sián uses a super capacitor, claimed by Lamborghini to be three times more powerful than a lithium-ion battery of the same weight, recharged by regenerative braking.
The Sián’s design evokes elements of the Countach with its trapezoidal intakes and Y-beam headlights from the Terzo Millennio concept car. Its performance is supported by advanced handling technologies, including four-wheel steering and carbon-ceramic brakes.
According to Weaver, “With the auction car’s rarity, striking specification, and collector mileage, it would certainly be a worthy addition to any curated stable of landmark Lamborghini models, or other top-shelf hypercars.”
The Sián will be featured at Broad Arrow’s Quail Auction on August 14, during the Quail: A Motorsport Gathering. Previously listed for $3.2 million, the car now holds an estimated value between $2.5 million and $3.0 million.
