The IONIQ 3 is capturing unprecedented attention as Hyundai’s most in-demand model, with its competitive pricing starting below $30,000 making waves in the automotive world.
Hyundai IONIQ 3 Pricing Details in the UK
The UK saw the debut of Hyundai’s electric hatchback, the IONIQ 3, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, setting the stage for its much-anticipated market launch. This model has sparked the greatest customer interest Hyundai has ever recorded, regardless of whether the vehicle is electric or gas-powered.
Hyundai has disclosed that the IONIQ 3 will be priced below £25,000 (about $33,500) when orders open. Currently, the base model is listed at £22,245 ($29,800) on Vertu Motors’ website.
The IONIQ 3 is available as Standard or Extended Range with four trim levels: Advance, Premium, Ultimate, and N-Line Evo. An electric hot hatch variant, the IONIQ 3 N, will also be released.

The IONIQ 3 marks Hyundai’s first foray into compact electric vehicles in its IONIQ series, designed as an economical alternative to the larger IONIQ 5. A fresh “Aero Hatch” design sets the IONIQ 3 apart, boasting a drag coefficient of just 0.263, leading its class.
Measuring 4,155 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm, the IONIQ 3 is slightly smaller than competitors like the Chevy Bolt EV and Kia EV3. Despite its compactness, it offers a generous 441 liters of luggage space, setting a new standard in its segment.

Ashley Andrew, president of Hyundai Motor UK, remarked, “The fact that we’re already seeing record levels of interest before it’s even gone on sale tells us everything we need to know about its appeal.”
The IONIQ 3, built on the E-GMP platform, offers two battery options: a 42.2 kWh providing up to 213 miles and a 61 kWh with a range of 308 miles. It utilizes a cost-efficient 400V architecture instead of the 800V seen in the IONIQ 5.
| Hyundai IONIQ 3 trim | Battery | Starting Price |
| Advance | 42 kWh | £22,245 ($29,800) |
| Advance | 61 kWh | £25,745 ($34,500) |
| Premium | 61 kWh | £27,445 ($37,000) |
| Ultimate | 61 kWh | £29,945 ($40,000) |
| N-Line Evo | 61 kWh | £31,945 ($42,700) |
The IONIQ 3 supports DC fast charging, achieving a 10% to 80% charge in about 29 minutes with the standard battery and 30 minutes with the long-range option. It also debuts Hyundai’s Pleos Connect OS and infotainment system in Europe and the UK, featuring an AI assistant, Gleo AI, and available with large center screens.
Physical controls for climate and audio are thoughtfully integrated below the infotainment screen and on the steering wheel, aiming for a user-friendly experience.
