Brazil’s Technological Leap: AI and Sustainability at the Forefront at Hannover Messe

In a rapidly evolving technological landscape, Brazil is stepping onto the global stage with a focus on innovation and sustainability. As Hannover Messe’s partner country in 2026, Brazil is poised to demonstrate its advanced capabilities in artificial intelligence and renewable energy, marking a significant stride in its machinery and equipment sector.

Brazil Machinery Solutions, a collaboration between the Brazilian Machinery Builders’ Association (ABIMAQ) and ApexBrasil, leads this initiative. The organization’s Executive President, José Velloso, emphasizes, “Brazilian technology is stronger than ever. We are ready to show that our solutions can not only compete, but lead globally, particularly in clean energy and sustainability.”

Recent data indicates Brazil’s leadership in Industry 4.0, with significant advancements in AI and automation. Velloso notes, “Our machinery sector is not just keeping pace with global development. It is ahead in areas such as AI-driven production optimization and cost efficiency.” The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics reports that from 2022 to 2024, AI utilization in Brazilian industry soared by over 160%, underscoring a swift digital transformation.

AI and IoT technologies are now integral to Brazilian manufacturing, streamlining operations and boosting productivity. The Living Factory Platform by Datawake Digital Ltda., showcased at Hannover, epitomizes this shift by enabling self-learning systems that enhance efficiency and cut unnecessary processes.

Additionally, companies like Antares Acoplamentos Ltda. are integrating real-time monitoring and data-driven strategies to enhance predictability, while also focusing on environmental impact reduction. This aligns with Brazil’s broader sustainability goals, supported by its clean energy matrix comprising solar, biomass, and wind power.

“We operate with one of the cleanest energy mixes globally,” Velloso asserts, highlighting Brazil’s competitive edge in the growing market for sustainable solutions. The country’s commitment to renewable energy is driving both efficiency and emissions reductions.

At Hannover Messe, Neuman & Esser Engenharia e Soluções Ltda. will introduce its PEM electrolysis system, a groundbreaking technology by NEA | Hytron. This system positions Brazil at the forefront of hydrogen production for industrial decarbonization, supporting applications like heavy mobility and green ammonia production.

The Brazilian delegation at the fair includes 140 companies, with notable participants such as GASCAT Indústria e Comércio Ltda., WEG Equipamentos Elétricos S.A., HBR Equipamentos Ltda., and Microfusão do Brasil. These firms represent a cross-section of Brazil’s industrial and energy sectors, reflecting a unified push toward innovation and sustainability.

Brazil Machinery Solutions functions as an export promotion program, striving to expand the reach of Brazilian machinery globally. In partnership with ApexBrasil, it aims to position Brazil as a leading supplier of technologically advanced and competitive capital goods.
