ACC Showcases ‘Made in France’ Innovation at Paris Motor Show

Europe’s leading electric vehicle battery manufacturer, Automotive Cells Company (ACC), is set to participate in the 2026 Paris Motor Show. Located at the ‘La Fabrique de l’Innovation’ stand, organized by the Plateforme Automobile (PFA), ACC will highlight the French automotive sector’s excellence.

During the event, ACC will present its 5 millionth lithium-ion cell, produced at the Gigafactory in Billy-Berclau / Douvrin. This achievement signifies almost 40,000 vehicles equipped with ACC batteries. A cutaway vehicle featuring one of these batteries will be displayed by the Stellantis Group.

Since the previous Paris Motor Show, ACC has demonstrated remarkable growth and industrial maturity:

  • ACC’s cells and modules now power eight High Range electric vehicle models from the Stellantis Group, including Peugeot E-3008, E-5008, Jeep Compass, and more.
  • The first block of the Gigafactory operates continuously on a 5×8 shift pattern with improving scrap rates.
  • Industrialisation and scaling efforts are advancing rapidly.
  • In September alone, module production nearly matched ACC’s total output for 2025.
  • ACC consistently meets Stellantis’s production plans.
  • The second production block, with a 12.9 GWh capacity, will begin production in 2027 for Mercedes Group’s electric vehicles.

In light of geopolitical tensions, rising energy costs, and climate imperatives, ACC offers a European solution to transport electrification challenges. Developing battery technology on the continent is crucial for securing supply chains, preserving jobs, and enhancing Europe’s technological sovereignty.

Europe’s ambition to champion ‘Made in Europe’ must quickly translate into the introduction of an Industrial Accelerator Act (IAA), supporting the demand for European-made batteries.

As Allan Swan, CEO of ACC, stated, “Reaching 5 million cells produced in France is an important milestone for ACC and a clear demonstration of the progress achieved by our teams over the past years. It shows that Europe can develop and industrialise advanced battery technologies at scale.”

He further added, “At the same time, the competitiveness challenge remains. Europe must now ensure that its industrial ambitions are supported by a framework that enables battery manufacturing to compete on a level playing field. Only a competitive European offering will be able to meet the demand for ‘Made in the EU’ production.”

ACC continues to innovate, developing next-generation products with enhanced performance and real-world driving range. Faster charging times will further accelerate the shift to electric mobility, aligning with consumer expectations.
