The 2027 Subaru Solterra is poised to hit the market, bringing along enhancements from its 2026 predecessor while maintaining the same starting price below $40,000. This strategic move by Subaru keeps the model competitive in the evolving electric SUV landscape.
2027 Subaru Solterra Overview
Subaru’s electric SUV, the Solterra, witnessed significant upgrades in 2026, featuring extended driving range, increased power, a refined design, and the inclusion of a NACS charge port. The 2027 iteration preserves much of these advancements while retaining the 2025 model’s starting price of $38,495.
Available in four trims—Premium, Limited, Limited XT, and Touring XT—the 2027 Solterra offers variety for different consumer preferences.
The XT versions come with Subaru’s enhanced Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, achieving a combined 338 hp and 323 lb-ft of torque. According to Subaru, these models can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 5 seconds and offer a “best-in-class” ground clearance of 8.3 inches.
The standard Premium and Limited trims are equipped with dual electric motors, producing 233 hp.
Each 2027 Solterra houses a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering an estimated range of up to 288 miles, notably surpassing the 2025 model’s 227 miles range.
Sharing its platform with the upgraded Toyota bZ, the Solterra benefits from a built-in NACS charge port, providing access to over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America.
Subaru has implemented a new battery preconditioning system in the Solterra, enhancing charging times in varied climates. The vehicle can fast charge from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
