Norway’s Ulstein Verft has delivered the cable-laying vessel Nexans Electra to French cable systems designer Nexans, tailored for transporting, laying, protecting, repairing, and jointing subsea power cables.
Nexans Electra was ordered as the second vessel by Nexans at Ulstein Verft and is an updated version of Nexans Aurora, delivered in 2021.
The 155.2-meter long and 31-meter wide vessel is based on the ST-297 CLV design by Skipsteknisk, equipped with three turntables with 13,500-tonne loading capacity. It can lay up to four cables simultaneously.
Ulstein Verft managed the turnkey delivery, including outfitting and finalization at Ulsteinvik. After the hull launch on 13 November 2025, the final testing phase began. The naming ceremony featured three godmothers.

Nexans Electra includes Palfinger’s extensive equipment, Remacut’s cable-lay equipment, Red Rock’s crane systems, and several Hydroniq Coolers Pleat seawater coolers.
